• Do you do any videography or photography work?

At VideoBlacksmith, we only perform editing services for your existing video and/or photography. We feel that, by specializing in editing existing material, we can provide the highest quality work in the least amount of time.

  • How long will my video take?

Most projects are completed within three to four weeks of the day we receive your materials. Depending on content and special requests, some projects may be completed earlier or later. However, we always strive to produce the highest quality video in the least amount of time.

  • Will the finished DVD play on my home DVD player ?

Recordable DVDs (DVD +R/DVD –R) are compatible with most home DVD players. At VideoBlacksmith, we use the DVD -R format as it has been found to currently be more compatible with the majority of standalone DVD players. However, if you have any concerns about compatibility issues with your player, you may request a specific DVD format.

We will always do everything possible to ensure that your completed DVD is compatible with your player.
  • Do you take special requests?

Absolutely. We are willing to discuss any ideas that will make your video more personal, fun and fulfilling!

  • Are packages restricted to one topic?

No. The packages we advertise are offered to help you find a suitable combination of video, images and audio for specific topics. You may select a package and provide any material you wish.

  • How can I track the progress of my video?

We update our online tracking page daily to reflect any progress made on our projects. You can go to our order status page and view your project timeline.

  • Can music be used in my video?

Yes. We greatly encourage the use of music in your video. You can use any music you would like, however, due to copyright restrictions, you must own any music that you choose to include in your video. In general, we ask that you send an ORIGINAL copy of music you would like us to include. In some cases, however, music may be purchased on your behalf and the price included in your bill.

  • Can voiceovers be used in my video?

Yes.

  • What video formats do you deal with?

Currently, we can edit video provided to us on VHS, Hi8, DV, HDV, DVD or other digital format (i.e. mpg, avi, wmv). The final edited product can be your choice of DVD or VHS (or a digital format such as wmv, rm, avi or mp4).

  • Do I have to provide digital photographs?

No. You may also provide hardcopy photographs. There is an additional charge per photograph however, due to the time and resources required for scanning.
